  On March 13, 2002, Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels announced a significant funding initiative for members of Seattle's labor community.?HomeStreet Bank was awarded $500,000 to enhance the benefits offered through the HOI Program for borrowers purchasing within the Seattle City Limits.?Borrowers who earn up to 80% of the Area Median Income ($54,400 for a family of four) can qualify for special purchase assistance program.?Borrowers can qualify for up to $35,000 in down payment assistance or they can receive rates a full 1% below current market interest rates through the HOI Plus Program.
